About The Presenter

Steve Cheney, M.A., LPC, IRT, specializes in couples and group therapy in Austin, Texas. With a decade of counseling experience, his approach integrates Jungian Psychology, Existential, Imago Relationship Therapy, Psychodynamic, Somatic, and Intuitive/Energy work. Alongside his wife, Emily Harrington-Cheney, he co-leads couples workshops throughout the year and facilitates two therapy groups.

Steve is deeply committed to living the symbolic life, a philosophy imparted by his late mentor, Dr. John L. Garcia. This means engaging with the world through a lens of deeper meaning—recognizing the significance embedded in both the mundane and the extraordinary, and seeing beyond the literal into the rich tapestry of myths and archetypes.
