Desire in the Group Room: From Fear and Shame to Joy and Play
Hosted by Max Mirasol
Desire enters the group room in many forms: longings for intimacy, sexual fantasies, cravings for recognition, and the wish to feel fully alive.
For many clients—especially those with histories of sexual, relational, religious, or identity‑based trauma—desire is not only a source of energy and possibility but also a trigger for fear, shame, and shutdown.
Clinicians, too, bring their own histories, values, and embodied responses to desire, which can shape how safely these conversations unfold.
This Friday Night Convo is designed for those who wish to explore and deepen their comfort in working with desire in all its forms, including but not limited to sexual desire.
We will explore how fear and shame around wanting to show up in clients and therapists alike, and how a more playful, curious, and affirming stance can support healing.
In person event. Location given at registration.
